ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (abbreviated as ACM-ICPC or just ICPC) is an annual multi-tiered computer programming competition among the universities of the world. The contest is sponsored by IBM. Headquartered at Baylor University, with autonomous regions on six continents, the ICPC is directed by Baylor Professor William B. Poucher, Executive Director, and operates under the auspices of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
In an effort to prepare for the upcoming programming contest we have been meeting weekly on Tuesday at 4:00pm in CS-202 with Professor Kevin Wortman. If you are interested in participating in the contest, there is still room left on a couple teams. This event will be free of charge to all ACM members.
More information about this event can be found on their webpage:

We will be holding a brief general meeting at 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 27th, in CS-202 (after our weekly programming lab). We will be discussing our local chapter membership and plans for our current Arduino project.
We hope to see you there!
Do you fancy yourself a mad coder? Want to be?
Come to CS-202 this Tuesday, September 13th at 4:00pm to participate in an intensive, interactive programming lab hosted by the CSUF ACM Club (Association for Computing Machinery).
This lab is the first in a series that will be meeting every Tuesday through early November. Emphasis will be placed on learning to recognize common computing problems, problem reduction, and efficient solutions in C++. Sessions will be led by Professor Wortman.
Attendees will have an opportunity to win a spot on one of several programming teams which will be sent to represent CSUF in this year’s Southern California Regional Programming Contest in November.
Many of the problems and solutions considered are known to be used in industry as interview questions. This is a great opportunity to hone your programming skills and prepare for your post-graduate career.
Open to all CS majors. Students who have previously completed CS 120, 121 and 131 will be best prepared for this lab.
Quick overview of our last meeting in case you were not able to attend: ACM Meeting 3/7/11 Minutes.
ACM will be attending the annual So Cal Linux Expo in LA February 25-27. Students are able to register for 50% off the normal fee, for a total of $35.00.
There are plenty of talks for all level of users. Be sure to check out the session schedule to see if any interest you.
